LOVE SONGS AT LAMMAS

No automatic alt text available.

I am taking part on Sat.28th July in this event.

I will sing two 12th C. Troubadour songs in a dialogue with Pete McPhail on flute and baritone sax

Lanquan li jorn ( Jaufre Rudel)

Dejosta-ls breus jorns (Peire d Alvernhe)

These will be interspersed with Joe Butler reading his freshly written translations.

They belong to two different strands: the Rudel is simple and powerfully wrought, while Peire’s (both in text and melody) is complex and contrary, a prime example of ‘trobar clus’.
