The first event in the book launch tour of FOUR, celebrating the fourth issue of mumei publishing’s free online journal, Reductive Journal. The central tenet of the journal investigates the diverse perceptions that occur when we deal with text and sound. It attempts to consider minimal and abstract forms of art to interrelate sonic, image and text experiences. We ask various contributors to participate in each issue with their own compositional approaches and methodologies in relation to the journal theme. The first three journals include works from Taku Sugimoto, Toshiya Tsunoda, Manfred Werder, Jesse Goin, Joseph Clayton Mills and many more.

Audience members will be able to view the exhibition before and after the performance.

An evening of dance/music collaborations including Cafe Reason and guests, with music by Malcolm Atkins, Pete McPhail and myself.

The event is also a platform towards Cafe Reason’s ‘Doll’s House’ show which will happen in January, a dream-like exploration which has Perec’s ‘La vie Mode d’emploi’ as one of its sources.

• SATURDAY 5 DECEMBER SOUTH OXFORD COMMUNITY CENTRE (8PM gig)

Art exhibition and workshops during the day, gig in the evening with members of OXFORD IMPROVISERS (Kesia Decote, Nicola Psaila, Dan Goren, Gabriele Pani, Paul Medley and myself)  and CONFLUENCE COLLECTIVE. Refreshments and plenty of fun. Paul Medley will be playing, and exhibiting his wonderful photographs.
