Photos and sound recording
New Hinksey Bridge (Devil’s Backbone), Oxford
taken at various times in the past few years. This environment is familiar to me: I have lived in the area since 1987. Rather than aiming to produce a reliable record of the place, the activity is a way for me to notice it afresh.
The sound collage was made only from samples recorded with contact microphones, on and around the bridge in June 2013.
It is best not too loud on good speakers or headphones.
